On Page optimization is the technique applied for a website that shows visibility of the web-pages in search engine. To get ranking in search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN – make sure to implement the on-page optimization strategy that display results on the search engine result pages – SERP.

Getting a good ranking in a search engine is not an easy task because it requires lot of efforts to implements the strategy ethically. The first step to begin optimizing a web-page is through on –page optimization as it essential to make a presence of business website and to stay ahead of the competitor in the online world.

I have listed some of the basic on-page optimization techniques for beginner SEO

Keywords: Keyword plays an important role because search engine display results through the keywords you used for any information/product. One should select the specific and targeted keyword that will help create a solid foundation for your SEO efforts.

URL structure: When a new page is design, make sure to use relevant/specific keywords. The URL keywords should be specific enough for search engine ranking because Google reads URL from left to right and give highest value on words that appear closest to the beginning of the URL string.

Title optimization: The Title tag is the most important aspect and it should be descriptive enough for your visitors to identify you and your business. Search engine indexed a web-page and it’s a first we notice in SERP. So, it’s pretty much important to optimize Title Tag with proper selection of keywords. Also, make sure the title tag should have 65 to 70 characters.

Meta Tag optimization: The Meta –tag is description of the website that we see in the SERP. Though it is not important but we cannot even ignore it as far as SEO is concerned. It helps to know more about the webpage in short span of time and one might click if it is descriptive enough to land for that page. The Meta tag should have 150 characters.

Image Optimization: If your website selling products you need to optimize the images of the product too, because search engine follows their own method. The web crawler can only read text but not images. So, you need to use Alt-tag for images as it helps us to know what the image is about. For instance: if it a jewelry image – it shows jewelry as a keyword in alt –tag.
